Our Future Forest

Help us build a resilient Future Forest in Boulder by sharing which trees you have on your property.

The goal? To have less than 5% of each tree species in urban areas of Boulder County.

Why? A diverse urban forest is more resilient to pests.

What can I do? Glad you asked!

  1. Identify the family/species of trees on your property. Need help? Check out: What Tree Is That?
  2. Click "Go To Map" above and drop a pin for each family/species of tree on your property. Hint: You can easily search for your address by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right hand corner of your screen.
  3. Plant a new species of tree on your property! Hint: Don't forget that our climate is warming, pick a tree species that will do well in our future climate.
